Sept 28, Colombo: The Colombo Crime Division of Police said that a person was arrested at Pannnaloka Mawatha area in Dehiwala with a stock of ‘ice’ (crystal methamphetamine) worth over one 10 million rupees.

The police also seized 1.01kg of ice, 150,000 rupees in cash said to have been earned by smuggling drugs and an electronic scale from the possession of the suspect at the time of his arrest.

The 39-year-old resident of Dehiwala was arrested on the information received by the Western Province Anti-Corruption Division of the Colombo Crime Division.

The suspect will be produced before the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court.

On the instructions of Colombo Crime Division Director Assistant Superintendent of Police Neville de Silva and Chief Inspector Anselm de Silva, Western Province Anti-Corruption Division OIC Sub-Inspector RLR Madhuranga and other officers are conducting further investigations.
