Sept 27, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s inflation, as measured by the change in the Colombo Consumers’ Price Index (CCPI) declined to 1.3 percent in September 2023 from 4.0 percent in August, the Department of Census and Statistics reported Wednesday.

The CCPI for all items for the month of September 2023 increased to 191.8 from 190.1 in August 2023.

The Year on Year inflation of Food Group decreased to -5.2 percent in September from -4.8 percent in August and the Year on Year inflation of Non Food Group decreased to 4.7 percent in September 2023 from 8.7 percent in the previous month.

For the month of September 2023, on year‐to‐year basis, contribution to inflation by food commodities was -1.78 percent and the contribution of Non Food items was 3.10 percent.
