Sept 18, Colombo: A 70-year-old man who has been trafficking ‘ice’ (Crystal Methamphetamine) drugs on a large scale for a long time has been arrested by a group of police Special Task Force (STF) officers in Jaffna.

On information received, the STF officers have carried out a raid on the 15th and arrested the suspect in front of the Jaffna Post office on the 15th September.

He was in the possession of 1.04 kilograms of Ice worth over Rs. 10 million at the time of his arrest.

The 70-year-old resident of Valvettithurai area was arrested along with a mobile phone and a van and handed over to the Jaffna Police Station for further investigation.
