* Two organized crime gang members arrested

Sept 17, Colombo: The Police Special Task Force have arrested two powerful members of organized crime gangs during raids in Katana and Payagala.

During a raid in the Disagewatta area on the Katana-Divulapitiya road, the police Special Task Force managed to arrest the man who is believed to be the main shooter of a powerful organized crime gang leader, Mahesh, along with heroin.

The suspect, a resident of Katuwellegama area is a close associate of Heenatiyana Mahesh, who is hiding in Dubai and conducting shootings and drug trafficking.

This suspect has also been accused of helping the criminal named Buru Moona to escape from the country.

Meanwhile, an organized gang member named Payagala Bindu was arrested with heroin during a raid in North Payagala. He is alleged of helping gunmen to enter a house in Ratmalana area posing as police officers and shoot a resident of the house.
