* Woman’s body found on rail tracks near Horape station

Sept 16, Colombo: Ragama police said that a dead body of a woman was found lying on the railway tracks between Horape and Enderamulla stations Saturday.

The Police said the body was lying on the railway track about 100 meters from Horape railway station towards Colombo. The police also said that one of her arms has been separated from her body.

The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old Chitrangani Dias Abeysinghe, a resident of School Mawatha, Nawela, Rajagiriya, according to the Ragama Police.

The police have further said that it was revealed during the initial investigations regarding the incident that the victim has been working as a liaison officer in a private law firm.

The police also found a handbag and a mobile phone belonging to the deceased at the scene of the incident.

The police said that a train ticket was also found in the handbag for the train that left Anuradhapura for Colombo Fort this morning.

Ragama Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
