Sept 16, Colombo: Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera says two separate meetings were held with the senior management of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) on last Thursday to educate on the Electricity sector reforms.

The CEB management has been briefed about the mechanism of the restructuring program, the progress of the reforms, proposed structure for the electricity sector, establishment and role of the reform secretariat, transition timeline, transfer plans of employees and assets, establishment of successor companies to take over generation, transmission and distribution.

The Chairman of the CEB, General Manager, Additional General Managers, Deputy General Managers, Chief Engineers, Department Heads of the CEB, Senior Officials and Head of the Reform Secretariat participated in the event.
