* Parliament convenes a special meeting of party leaders

Nov 20, Colombo: A special meeting of party leaders in Parliament has been called today (20) to discuss the current situation of the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).

Deputy Speaker Mr. Ajith Rajapakse states that the party leader meeting will be held at 12.00 noon.

The deputy speaker mentioned that there will be a discussion on whether the current COPE committee will be continued, or whether it will be dissolved and new members will be appointed for it.

In an announcement, Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena informed Parliament last Friday that COPE committee meetings will not be held until further notice.
