* Chairman of Central Environment Authority, two others arrested while accepting a Rs. 10 million bribe

Nov 10, Colombo: Three persons including the Chairman of the Central Environment Authority, Mr. Supun Shashendra Pathirage has been arrested by the officials of the Bribery Commission late Friday.

It is said that the three people was arrested while receiving a bribe of 10million rupees for a project of the Central Environment Authority.

It is reported that among the arrested suspects is a former Sabaragamuwa provincial council member.

The investigation was carried out by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).
