* U.S. ready to explore potential investment opportunities in Sri Lanka

May 26, Colombo: Brendan Lynch, Assistant US Trade Representative, South and Central Asia has informed the Sri Lankan State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe that the United States is ready to explore the potential investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.

Mr. Lynch who is currently on a visit to Sri Lanka has met the State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe for a discussion at the Ministry of Finance on Thursday and expressed that the U.S. is ready to expand trade between the two countries.

Minister Semasinghe has reiterated that the government will take every step to stabilize the economic situation in Sri Lanka and the U.S. Trade Representative has expressed his appreciation for taking appropriate steps to stabilize Sri Lanka’s economy.

Mr. Lynch noted out that the U.S. government is ready to increase investment opportunities and expand trade with Sri Lanka and will support the initiatives.
