May 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s largest state-owned retail chain Lanka Sathosa has reduced the prices of 6 essential consumer items. Sathosa also says that this discounted price will be effective from today (May 24) in all country wide Sathosa outlets.

Accordingly, the price of a 400 gram packet of Milk Powder (Lanka Sathosa) has been reduced by Rs.50 and its new price is Rs.1,030.

The price of 1 kg of dry chilies has been reduced by Rs 45 and its new price is Rs 1,350.

The new price of one kg of red lentils is Rs 325.

The price of 1 kg of soy meat (bulk) has been reduced by Rs.10 and its new price is Rs.660.

The new price of 1 kg of big onion is 129 rupees.

The Lanka Sathosa also stated that the new price of 1 kg of white sugar is 239 rupees.
