May 24, Colombo: Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles has ordered the deportation of the Chinese national who came to Sri Lanka with the possession of two passports and was taken into custody by the Immigration and Emigration Department following an investigation.
At the instructions of the Public Security Minister, the Chinese national had been summoned to the Department of Immigration and Emigration to record a statement in connection with the incident.
The Chinese national had arrived in Sri Lanka on May 18th with a passport issued by the state of Guinea in addition to a Chinese passport.
The immigration officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport detained him on suspicion of his two passports.
Later, the immigration officials took measures to release him according to a request made by the State Minister Arundika Fernando to the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration.
The State Minister Arundika Fernando claimed yesterday that the Chinese national had come to invest in the country.
