May 21, Colombo: President Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to leave for Japan tomorrow (May 22), followed by a visit to Singapore, President’s Office said.
The Office of the President said, during his five-day visit, President Wickremesinghe is scheduled to meet Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
The Sri Lankan President is expected to hold discussions with the Singaporean and Japanese leaders on a range of bilateral issues, according to the President’s Media Division (PMD).
The President is also expected to discuss Sri Lanka’s agreement with the International Monetary Fund, debt restructuring process, investment opportunities and several other matters with both Heads of State.
Also in Japan, President Wickremesinghe will address the Nikkei Forum FUTURE OF ASIA, which is scheduled to be commenced on May 25 in Tokyo, under the theme ‘Leveraging Asia’s power to confront global challenges’.
President Wickremesinghe is then scheduled to visit Singapore, where he will hold discussions with Prime Minister Lee- Hsien Loong and senior officials of the Singaporean government, the President’s Media Division said.
President Wickremesinghe is scheduled to return to the country on Saturday (May 27).
