The body of the Sri Lankan woman who died after falling from the eighth floor of an apartment in Singapore has been handed over to her family this afternoon after the post-mortem was conducted at the Negombo District General Hospital.
In the post-mortem examination, it has been confirmed that the death was due to injuries to the body and head caused by a fall from a height.
The body of the 41-year-old married woman named Nadika Dilhani Fernando, a resident of Dangkotuwa - Motemulla area, was repatriated to the island last night.
The relatives of the deceased woman demand that an investigation is needed regarding her death.
Nadika Dilhani Fernando was registered with the SLBFE on November 18 last year before going abroad for the employment. However, after that, neither the Bureau nor the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore had received any complaint that there were problems at her workplace.
However, the Bureau informs that a complete investigation will be conducted on the reported information and necessary steps will be taken in this regard.
