* Horana Solar Power connects 2 MW solar plant to national grid

June 09, Colombo: Minister of Power and energy Kanchana Wijesekera Friday declared open a ground mounted solar panel system with a capacity of two megawatts implemented built by Horana Solar Power (Pvt) Ltd a fully owned subsidiary of Vidullanka PLC, and connected it to the National Grid in Horana.

This is the first project implemented of 23 projects that was awarded in March 2021 on a tender by CEB for a total of 150 MW.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the developers and management of Vidullanka & Horana Solar Power for implementing the project with the cost escalations and financial risks during the last 12 months.
