* Bus-lorry collision injures 22 persons in Hanwella

June 09, Colombo: A Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) bus collided head-on with a lorry collided in the Colombo-Avissawella road at Embulgama in Hanwella, in the early hours of today (09) injuring 22 people.

The driver of the bus, 20 passengers and the driver of the lorry sustained injuries in the collision and have been admitted to Homagama and Nawagamuwa hospitals.

The Police Media Division said the accident occurred when a lorry traveling from Colombo towards Avissawella collided head-on with a SLTB bus traveling from Akkaraipattu to Colombo in Embulgama.

The Hanwella Police is conducting further investigations.
