June 08, Colombo: Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekara has instructed the fuel distributor Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to take legal action against dealers who violate the terms of agreement by failing to maintain minimum fuel stocks.
At A progress review meeting held Wednesday with CPC and Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Ltd. (CPSTL} it was revealed that only 432 Fuel stations out of 1050 operated by CPC have maintained minimum stock on all products last week.
Another 255 dealers have failed to maintain minimum stocks for any products while 363 dealers have maintained minimum stock for one product.
The Minister has given Instructions to CPC to review and take necessary legal steps against dealers that have violated conditions on the agreements.
The cargo plan for the next 18 months, balance sheet restructuring of CPC, payments to transport bowsers, National Fuel Pass QR distribution, island wide fuel delivery plan, infrastructure development plan of CPSTL was also reviewed and discussed at the meeting, the Minister said.
