* Speaker endorses the certificate on Regulation of Election Expenditure Bill and Bureau of Rehabilitation Bill

Jan 27, Colombo: Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has endorsed the certificate on the Regulation of Election Expenditure Bill and the Bureau of Rehabilitation Bill which were debated and passed in Parliament recently.

Accordingly, these bills come into force as the Regulation of Election Expenditure Act No. 3 of 2023 and the Bureau of Rehabilitation Act No. 2 of 2023 respectively.

The Regulation of Election Expenditure Bill with amendments was passed in Parliament on January 19 with a majority of 61 votes.
