Jan 25, Colombo: The Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Mr. Manusha Nanayakkara says that in the year 2023, employment opportunities will be provided to around 200,000 workers in Saudi Arabia.
After a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mr. Khalid bin Hamoud Nasser Aldasam Alkahtanilk recently, the Minister said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is willing to facilitate up to 200,000 workers in 2023.
Saudi Arabia has provided job opportunities for 54,000 Sri Lankan workers in 2022. Currently 110,000 Sri Lankan workers which is 1% of the total migrant workers are employed in the kingdom.
The Minister added that it is expected to send trained workers to meet the total number of jobs provided for Sri Lanka for the year 2023.
