* Another 47 domestic workers subjected to harassment in Kuwait brought to the island

Jan 25, Colombo: Another 47 domestic workers who were subjected to various harassments while they were working as domestic workers in the state of Kuwait arrived in the island today.

The group included 42 female domestic workers and 5 male workers and most of them are residents of Anuradhapura district.

An official of the Sri Lankan Embassy in Kuwait said that around 1300 such Sri Lankan women workers are staying in Kuwait being unable to return home.

Many of the housemaids who came to Sri Lanka today are those who have been subjected to various harassments by their employers.
