Jan 22, Colombo: A senior official of the Ceylon Electricity Board said the Kelanithissa Combined Cycle Power Station was disabled this morning (22) due to the shortage of naphtha to operate the power plant.
The official also said that the Electricity Board authorities are discussing to find money to pay the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation to buy the naphtha needed to operate the plant.
Kelanithissa power plant produces 165 megawatts of power for the national electricity grid.
