* Ugandan man arrested at Sri Lanka airport with 80 cocaine pills in his stomach

Sept 30, Colombo: The officers of the Narcotics Control Division of the Sri Lanka Customs have nabbed an Ugandan man at the arrivals terminal of the Bandaranaike International Airport with cocaine pills in his stomach, Sudatta Silva, Customs Media Spokesperson, Deputy Director of Customs (Legal Affairs) said.

The 43-year-old man and is a farmer in Uganda. He came from Uganda to the Guinea, and from there to Casablanca. After that he came to Doha, Qatar and from there he arrived at Katunayake Airport at 09.10 in the morning of 09/28 by Qatar Airways flight KR-664.

Based on the suspicions about him, he was interrogated near the exit gate of Katunayake Airport, and later when he was directed to an airport scanner, it was revealed that he had cocaine in his stomach.

When the Custom officers further questioned, the Ugandan national has admitted that he had swallowed 80 cocaine pills, estimated to be worth about Rs, 50 million.
