Sept 26, Colombo: Acting Defense Minister Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon emphasizes that the country cannot be allowed to become anarchist due to the competition between certain political parties and trade union groups to protest against the government.

Speaking at a press conference held today (26) at the Government Information Department, Acting Defense Minister said the law will be strictly enforced against protests that cause inconvenience to people or damage property.

However, the Acting Defense Minister emphasized that there is no obstacle to legitimate and peaceful protests.

Also, Acting Defense Minister Pramitha Bandara Tennakoon stated that after the President returns to Sri Lanka, issue of the high security zones will be analyzed and appropriate decisions would be taken.
