Sept 25, Colombo: Russia’s leading carrier Aeroflot Airlines will resume operations to Colombo, Sri Lanka from October 9th after suspending services to Colombo for over six months.
In a statement, the company said starting from October, Aeroflot will resume regular flights to Colombo, Bangkok, and Goa.
According to the announcement, the flights to Colombo will operate twice a week from the 9th on an Airbus A330 aircraft.
Aeroflot suspended its flights to Sri Lanka on June 04 this year after Sri Lankan authorities detained its Airbus A330 jet, following an enjoining order issued by the Colombo Commercial High Court preventing an Aeroflot flight from leaving Sri Lanka after hearing a complaint filed by Celestial Aviation Trading Limited in Ireland.
In July, the Colombo Commercial High Court dismissed the case filed by the Irish company against Russia’s Aeroflot Airline.
