* President to leave for Japan tonight to attend former Japanese Prime Minister Abe’s funeral

Sept 25, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe is scheduled to leave for Japan tonight (25) for a three-day official visit.

He will leave for Tokyo to attend the state funeral of slain former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

It is reported that about 700 guests from 217 countries including President Ranil Wickremesinghe will participate in the funeral ceremony.

The Embassy of Japan in Colombo earlier said Japan will continue its support for Sri Lanka’s sustainable development, as well as deepen the bilateral relations through the visit of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
