* Missing university student’s body found in Mahaweli River

Sept 21, Colombo: The body of the Peradeniya University student named Anjana Kulatunga, who went missing on the 16th, was recovered from the Mahaweli River this afternoon (21).

The Peradeniya Police launched a search operation in response to a complaint lodged by the student’s parents to the Peradeniya Police that the student has been missing since the 16th.

Anjana Kulatunga was a fourth year student studying in the Department of Psychology at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Peradeniya when he went missing.

A letter suspected to have been written by the student was also found in the room where he was staying.

It is suspected that this 24-year-old student, a resident of Gampaha-Yakkala area, has committed suicide.
