Nov 30, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s inflation, as measured by the change in the Colombo Consumers’ Price Index (CCPI) declined to 61.0 percent in November 2022 from 66.0 percent in October 2022, the Department of Census and Statistics reported Wednesday.
The CCPI for all items for the month of November 2022 decreased to 242.6 from 243.8 in October 2022.
The Year on Year inflation of Food Group decreased to 73.7 percent in November from 85.6 percent in October 2022 and the Year on Year inflation of Non Food Group also decreased to 54.5 percent in November 2022 from 56.3 percent in the previous month.
For the month of November 2022, on year‐to‐year basis, contribution to inflation by food commodities was 24.80 percent and the contribution of Non Food items was 36.16 percent.
The moving average inflation rate for the month of November 2022 is 42.6 percent. The corresponding rate for the month of October 2022 was 38.3 percent.
