Nov 26, Colombo: The ship carrying 9,000 metric tons of diesel donated by China arrived at Colombo port today (26).
Oil tanker "Super Eastern" carrying 10.6 million liters of diesel donated by China to SriLankan farmers and fishermen arrived at the Colombo Port this morning, the Chinese Embassy said on Twitter.
Unloading of the 10.6 million liters diesel will start after sample testing, the Embassy said.
The diesel stock will be handed over to Sri Lanka Ministry of Power and Energy and distributed to needy farmers and fishermen immediately, the Chinese Embassy added.
China donated the stock of diesel to farmers and fishermen in remote areas of Sri Lanka, to upgrade livelihood in the most affected sectors of agriculture and fishery.
