* Support of Central Bank Governor to develop private bus service

Nov 20, Colombo: Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe says that the necessary support to develop the private bus service will be provided as soon as possible.

The Governor of the Central Bank said this in a special discussion held Friday at the Central Bank headquarters with the Ceylon Private Owners Association regarding the problems of private bus owners.

Special attention has been paid to the problem that Private bus owners have to face with the increasing cost of spare parts of buses.

A program has also been implemented to carry out the transportation of bus passengers according to a new system.

The problems of the drivers of the buses that were set on fire during the protests on the 9th May were also discussed and the drivers of those buses also participated in this discussion. A program is also underway to import new buses in the future.
