* Three people including an Army major killed in a road accident in Galgamuwa

Nov 18, Colombo: Three persons, including an army major, died and two others were injured in a car accident that happened last night (17th) at the Ihalagama area on Galgamuwa- Anamaduwa Road, the Police said.

The police said according to preliminary investigation, the car in which the group was traveling veered off the road, smashed through a wall, hit a garden and hit a coconut tree

Two others who were traveling in the car were seriously injured in the accident and they are receiving treatment in Anuradhapura and Galgamuwa Base hospitals.

The deceased in the accident have been identified as Major E.M. Dinesh Wijitha Kumara Ilangaratne (35 years old), who served in the Anuradhapura, Saliyapura camp of the Eighth Gajaba Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army. E. M. Chatura Subhashana Premalal (30 years), and E. M. Ruwan Tharanga Gunasekara (36 years old), the police said.

All the three deceased are residents of Galgamuwa, Nochchiya and Vannikudawewa.
