* Vehicle registration fees increased from tomorrow

Nov 17, Colombo: A gazette notice has been issued revising the vehicle registration fees effective from Friday, November 18.

According to this fee revision, the fee for first registration of a motor car on normal basis will be Rs. 5,000, the fee for registration of a motor vehicle on priority basis will be Rs. 6,500 and the fee for registration on one-day basis will be Rs.7,500.

The gazette notification further states that late registration fees have also been revised.

Accordingly, the one-day late fee for a car will be Rs.100 and for a motorcycle, the one-day late fee will be Rs.50.

Also, the fee for changing the details of the vehicle registration certificate is Rs 3,000.
