July 07, Colombo: Minister of Labor and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara said that the necessary measures will be taken to provide employment opportunities to the Sri Lankan migrant workers in the fields of information technology, nursing, hospice, hotels, industries and agro industry sectors in Japan.
The Minister held a discussion with a visiting Japanese delegation yesterday (06) at the ministry regarding the employment opportunities in Japan.
The Minister discussed with the delegation to take the necessary steps to get 2000 jobs in the field of nurses and nursing workers, 1000 jobs in the IT field, 500 jobs in the industry and agriculture field and job opportunities in the hotel field.
Japanese representatives of Kaatsu International University (KIU) affiliated to Japan, Reverend Michi Kiura, Mr. Eso Saki, Mrs. Shodha and KIU Colombo Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jagath Seneviratne also participated in this discussion.
