Australia is well aware of the economic hardships Sri Lanka is facing, the High Commissioner observed.

Further strengthening of the understanding regarding maritime and illegal immigrants was discussed at length during the meeting and Mr. Holly has mentioned that special attention will be paid to the promotion of Australian investments.

Recalling the 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the President praised Australia’s close cooperation with Sri Lanka.
