* Chief Administrative Officer of the Lankapura Divisional Secretariat murdered

July 04, Colombo: The Chief Administrative Officer of Polonnaruwa Lankapura Divisional Secretariat was hacked to death with sharp weapons at her home at around 2.30 am today (04), the Lankapura police said.

According to the investigating police, the person who has been murdered is ML Yamuna Patmini, a 42-year-old mother of two who resided at No. 15/01. BOP 316 Talpotha, Polonnaruwa.

The police say that her husband and two children were at the house when she was killed.

The Lankapura police say that they have started the preliminary investigation to find out who killed her and for what reason.

Further investigations related to the incident are being carried out by a special team of police officers as per the instructions of Polonnaruwa Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Oshan Hewawitharana.
