Aug 18, Colombo: The Criminal Investigations Department on Thursday arrested Former Sri Lankan Minister Mervyn Silva.

The Criminal Investigation Department further states that this arrest was made in connection with an incident of forcibly entering the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation in Colombo in 2007.

On 27 December 2007 Mervyn Silva, who was the then Labor Minister, and his bodyguards had reportedly stormed into the offices Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation in Colombo and assaulted its news director.
