Accordingly, the Additional Magistrate ordered the release of the suspect on two sureties of one million rupees each. Kerner was also ordered to report to the Colombo Crime Division on the last Sunday of every month.

Also, the court banned the suspect from traveling abroad and ordered him to hand over his passport to the court.

The suspect was presented for an identification parade today and the Colombo Crime Division reported to the court that the witness identified the suspect.

President's Counsel Rienzie Arseculeratne appearing for the suspect Pathum Kerner, said, although the police stated that there was damage to military vehicles, police vehicles and an ambulance amounting to more than 1.6 million rupees in the protest on the 13th, no evidence has been presented that his client committed the crime.

The President's Counsel stated that the police have not presented any evidence before the court to prove that the suspect was in possession of the firearm that was allegedly stolen from an army soldier.

PC Arsakularatne requested the court to release his client on bail as all the charges against him are bailable offenses.

Colombo Crime Division officials have strongly objected to the bail request.
