The Minister said this in a discussion held on Tuesday at the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka regarding the procurement of fuel for the harvesting of the Yala season in the paddy lands cultivated in the Mahaweli region as well as for the farming activities in the Maha season.

This discussion was held with the participation of the senior officials of the two ministries including Minister of Irrigation, Sports and Youth Affairs Roshan Ranasinghe and Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera,

Minister Wijesekera said that the old bowsers are currently being repaired and a program of providing fuel to the agricultural fields will be started as soon as possible using the bowsers.
