Aug 02, Colombo: All schools in the Nuwara Eliya district will remain closed today (02) due to inclement weather.

Governor of Central Province, Lalith U Gamage has taken the decision to close all schools in Nuwara Eliya due to the heavy rains lashing the central hills.

Meanwhile, the Railway Department said that due to the collapsing of the hills, the train running on the upcountry line has been further disrupted. It is also mentioned that the removal of soil and stones that fell on the railway track is currently being done.
