Tue, Aug 2, 2022, 10:29 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Aug 02, Colombo: The police have started a preliminary investigation into an incident where a star hotel in Colombo allegedly provided food to the Galle Face protesters since the beginning of the ‘Aragalaya’.

The police said they have received information that the protesters have received 500-600 food parcels per day from the said hotel.

Food parcels were said to have been given since the beginning of the struggle until recently.

Police sources say that investigations have been started to find out whether these food parcels were given free of charge, or whether they were ordered and given by some organization.

Police sources say that this was revealed during the questioning of a protester who was arrested by the police.
