May 29, Colombo: State-owned supplier of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Litro Gas says the distribution of domestic gas cylinders will begin in the middle of next week.
Litro chairman Vijitha Herath said a ship with 3,500 metric tons of LP gas is expected to arrive in Colombo at around 1.00 p.m. Monday (30 May) and they expect to start distribution of domestic LP gas cylinders from Wednesday, June 01 morning onwards.
Litro chairman last week said payments have already been made for two ships of 3,500 metric tons each and one of the ships is scheduled to reach the island Monday. Accordingly, Litro is confident that the distribution of domestic gas cylinders could begin from next Wednesday.
The Public is requested not to stand in queues as gas will not be distributed until Wednesday, June 01.
