May 25, Colombo: State-owned supplier of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Litro Gas says it will not deliver gas until Friday (27).
The Litro Gas Company announced this afternoon (25) that domestic gas distribution will not be operational tomorrow (26). Accordingly, the company further stated that it will not release domestic gas cylinders in three weights.
The distribution of gas will be carried out as usual from Saturday, said the Chairman of Litro Gas, Engineer Vijitha Herath.
Payments have already been made for two gas vessels. One of the ships is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka next Friday, Litro said.
Despite the announcement by Litro that the gas supply has been halted, people are still queuing up to buy gas.
Sources from Litro say that the release of domestic gas has been suspended until next week and that there are plans to increase gas prices further.
