* Litro says no gas distribution today as well, asks consumers not to stay in queues
Wed, May 25, 2022, 10:18 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

May 25, Colombo: State-owned supplier of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), Litro Gas asked people not to wait in line today to buy LP gas.

The company said it was making the request to the public as there was no distribution of domestic gas cylinders today (25).

Meanwhile, Litro chairman Vijitha Herath said Litro had paid US $ 6.5 million for two shipments of 7,500 metric tons of LP gas. The first ship carrying 3,500 metric tons of gas is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow (26).

Meanwhile, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation states that it is planned to provide at least one fuel bowser to every petrol station today. Also, fuel queues were seen in many parts of the island last night due to lack of fuel.

The Sri Lanka Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association says the main reason for the long queues is the distribution of fuel without proper management.
