* Energy Minister requests public not to purchase fuel from third parties

May 23, Colombo: Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has requested the general public not to purchase petroleum products from third parties.

In a statement on Twitter, Minister Wijesekera said that investigations have revealed that certain individuals are engaged in collecting fuel, contaminating petroleum products with other liquids to sell at higher rates.

The Minister urged the public not to encourage such businesses and to report them to authorities.
