* Two nabbed for illegally transporting a stock of petrol

May 23, Colombo: Police say that 850 liters of illegally transported petrol was found during a search of a cab at a road block in Vellavali yesterday (22nd) early morning.

The stock of petrol in several barrels was found inside the cab during the inspection of the cab, the police said.

It has been confirmed that the fuel was transported without a license.

Two residents of Mahaoya, aged 47 and 41, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
