May 22, Colombo: The police during a raid Saturday arrested two suspects with 450 kilograms of Kerala cannabis. The raid was carried out in the Gonawala area in Sapugaskanda on a tip off received by the Police Narcotics Bureau.

Police said that the stock of Kerala cannabis was found in 2019 packages. According to reports, the seized cannabis consignment is worth approximately Rs. 51 million.

The arrested persons have been identified as a 32 year old woman from Badulla and a 34 year old resident of Gonawala.

The Police Narcotics Bureau has also seized a small lorry suspected to have been used to transport the cannabis.
