May 12, Colombo: President Gotabaya Rajapaksa Wednesday (May 11) appointed a Commissioner General of Essential Services and two Additional Commissioners.
A Commissioner General of Essential Services and two Additional Commissioners were appointed to coordinate and implement all activities related to the provision and maintenance of essential services in accordance with the powers vested in the President, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
Special Grade Head of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service K.D.S. Ruwachandra has been appointed as the Commissioner General of Essential Services and Rohana Pushpakumara, former Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture and Ranjith Ariyaratne, Post Master General have been appointed as Additional Commissioners.
Measures have been taken to appoint secretaries from 25 districts as coordinating officers, President’s Media Division (PMD) said.
Meanwhile, J.J. Rathnasiri, the former Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government, has been re-appointed as the Secretary to the respective Ministry with effect from Tuesday (10) as per the powers vested in the President, to maintain the livelihoods of the people.
