* Petrol Ship due to arrive today further delayed

June 24, Colombo: Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera today informed that a fuel shipment that was due to arrive today (24) will be further delayed.

The Minister explained that the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) was informed by the supplier that the petrol cargo confirmed to arrive yesterday was being delayed and will arrive Friday.

Unfortunately CPC has been informed of a further delay the Minister said adding that a new date of arrival will be confirmed later today.

Minister Wijesekera extended his regret over the delay.

Meanwhile, Health Services was allocated 85 fuel stations today, he said.

The CPC has communicated to the owners, distributed to the locations with 6600 liters of Petrol and 6600 liters of Diesel each.

The Minister said they had communicated on the quantities that they will be able to distribute to the Health Authorities.
