June 24, Colombo: The Colombo High Court has issued summons on former Minister Johnston Fernando and two others in connection with a case filed by the Bribery Commission.
Accordingly, the three accused have been ordered to appear before the court on the 4th of July to serve indictments in the case filed against them for using Sathosa employees for political activities.
The Bribery Commission had filed the case alleging that the three accused had caused a loss by removing 153 Sathosa employees from their legal duties and engaging them in political activities when Johnston Fernando was serving as a minister between 2010 and 2014 and incurring a loss to the tune of Rs 40 million to the government.
