* Peradeniya University will be closed temporarily

June 18, Colombo: A decision has been taken by the administration to temporarily close the University of Peradeniya in Kandy.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. M. D Lamawansa in a statement said that due to the current difficulties faced, all academic programs including examinations will be temporarily discontinued, and all hostels will be closed immediately.

Therefore, all students have been informed to leave the university premises with immediate effect.

The Vice Chancellor said respective faculties will notify information on the commencement of the academic activities and examinations in due course.
