* Laugfs raises LP gas prices, resumes distribution

June 05, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s privately owned liquefied petroleum (LP) gas supplier, Laugfs Gas PLC has raised prices of its gas cylinders and resumed distribution today.

Laugfs Gas has increased the price of a 12.5 kg domestic gas cylinder to Rs. 6,850 and the price of a 05 kg gas cylinder to Rs. 2,740.

Laugfs Gas, which has not supplied domestic gas for more than three months, has resumed distribution Sunday,

Laugfs chairman, W.K.H. Wegapitiya said that a shipment of 3,500 metric tons of gas had arrived and unloading of the cargo commenced since Saturday night (04).

He said Laugfs Gas cylinders will be distributed from today giving priority to Colombo District and its suburbs.

It has been reported that many dealers received Laugfs gas today. Although there were long queues, many could not buy gas.
