* All government schools to remain closed for this week
Sun, Jul 3, 2022, 07:37 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

July 03, Colombo: The Ministry of Education announces that all government schools and government-approved private schools across the island will be given a one-week holiday from Monday to the 8th.

The Ministry further states that the school time lost during that week will be covered during the upcoming school holidays

The decision was taken at a Zoom meeting held today with the officials of the Ministry of Education, Provincial Education Secretaries and Provincial Education Directors.

After reviewing the attendance progress of school principals, teachers and students in the last two weeks and taking into account the notices of the Ministry of Power and Energy regarding the fuel distribution, the week from 04 July 2022 to 08 July 2022 will be declared as a holiday week for all government schools and government approved private schools across the island, the Ministry said.
